plantThe Records Unit of the Support Services Division is staffed with three Criminal Records Technicians. The Records Technicians provide a wide range of functions including:

  • Live Scan transmissions to the California Department of Justice
  • Applicant fingerprinting
  • Parade permits in County jurisdiction
  • Explosive permits
  • Concealed weapons permits in Sutter County
  • Maintenance of agency reports and records including court mandated functions
  • Process record release requests
  • Process criminal offender registration such as sex and arson registrants (call for appointment: (530) 822-7313).
  • Compile monthly statistical reports for the Department of Justice Uniform Crime Reporting
  • Provide information to citizens either by the public counter or by telephone
  • Maintain and provide information regarding towed vehicles

The Records Unit is open to the public during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Monday through Friday). The office is closed between 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the lunch hour. Information may be requested by calling our office at (530) 822-4393 or by faxing (530) 822-7591.

Service and Fee Schedules

Most services are available during normal business hours. Fingerprinting/Live Scans are walk-in on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Please allow 15 minutes per person for fingerprinting and registration processing. The records unit will accept credit card, cash or check as payment for services.

  • $25.00 per transmission
  • Background fees vary and are not included in the Live Scan fee

Criminal Offender Registration

  • No fee is charged
  • Registration is by appointment only by calling (530) 822-7313

Report Copies

  • $0.25 per page
  • Photo identification required
  • The Records Unit responds to requests within ten days
